We cut the pieces for this Detroit paper towel from mild steel that is about 1/8-inch-thick. We do some fancy grinding to everything, then we weld the pieces together into one solid unit.

Finally, we powder coat it with either clear, candy red, candy blue, candy purple, candy green, candy copper or textured black. The candy colors are translucent and allow you to see through the color to the metal surface.
